Mercadona continues to add novelties to its product catalog and expand its offer to the public. One of the latest additions seen in the @mercadona.novedades account, have been tortillas with a 51% oats. A product that promises to be a solution perfect for healthy lunch or dinner.
Offered for sale under the landowner brandit is a package that contains 6 units at a price of 2 euros. However, in theory it accommodates food trends and the rise of oats as a whole grain and well nutritious. An ingredient that is characterized by being rich in dietary fiber, in addition to providing omega-3 fatty acids that help control bad cholesterol in the blood, is synonymous with energy and protein.
However, the trick of the tortillas is in the reverse. The list of ingredients includes: cereal flour 42% (whole oat flour 51%, wheat flour), water, lentil flour, wheat gluten, sunflower oil, stabilizers and preservatives. Therefore, mathematical reality shows that there is only 21% oatmeal. 51% refers, by virtue of the bread law, to the percentage of oats within the cereal flour.
Despite the confusing list of ingredients, when reviewing the nutritional value, we check each 60 g, a contribution of 172 kcal, 9.1 g of protein, 24 g of carbohydrates and 3.6 g of fat. In short, it is a product that allows you to solve a few dishes with hardly any complications, such as a spinach and cheese quesadilla, a Mexican burrito or red lentil curry tacos.
