We are never going to deny that Mercadona has a pair, especially today when we have realized that there is a new tenant on the shelves of the Valencian chain run by Juan Roig: a couple of eggs cooked on the grill and refrigerated they just need to be reheated and they are done.
At a price of 1.80 euros per pack, these eggs They are in the Refrigerated section and they are not present in all supermarkets, although we have seen them in an establishment in Valencia. The dance couple in question is manufactured by the company Lagumar Seas, located in Guipúzcoa, which is responsible for these size M eggs that only have extra virgin olive oil, sunflower oil and egg.
In packs of two, these Grilled eggs are vacuum packed in a protective atmosphere and, to the naked eye, their shape is perfect, even maintaining the texture of the yolk —without being broken or raw— and they seem to become one of the best sellers of this new season of the giant retail Valencian.
It is logical that the consumer can be reasonable doubts arise as to the quality of the productbecause from the outset we do not know the type of eggs that have been grilled in the kitchens of Lagumar Seas, since the packaging does not warn if they are free-range, organic or the traditional eggs from caged hens.
What does surprise us is that they have a relatively long expiration date for this type of products, since they are considered for a couple of weeks until the product is not suitable for consumption. Of course, once reheated and opened, the Mercadona label insists that they be consumed within ten hours after opening.
Abhorrent to some, especially those who believe that pay almost two euros for a couple of grilled eggs; but practical for others, such as those people who have almost no time to prepare food and find salvation in this pack of eggs to fix a Cuban-style rice or any meal at work.
