Benjamin Mendy, Manchester City player, is in preventive detention after being accused of four rapes and one assault. On Friday he testified in Chester court for these crimes and the judge denied him bail. It was not allowed to him after last month he skipped the conditions of this, inviting four people to his home.
The first hearing was held today August 27, and after not being resolved, the French international must remain in jail until September 10, when the second is done. As reported by the British police in a statement, the events took place between October 2020 and August 2021. The complaints have been made by three women who are over 16 years old, but one of them would not yet have come of age.
Mendy has only communicated to the judge through an interpreter. At the moment, the English club has announced in a brief statement that his salary is suspended: “Manchester City can confirm that, after being accused today by the police, Benjamin Mendy has been suspended pending an investigation“they wrote.” The matter is subject to legal process and, therefore, the Club cannot comment further until this process is complete “they concluded.
