CX-90 is available with a new 3.3-liter e-Skyactiv Turbo inline-six engine, which has the highest power and torque of any mass-production gasoline engine developed by Mazda, with 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft.
This engine is also equipped with a mild-hybrid system, located between the engine and the transmission, focused on providing efficiency without this meaning higher gasoline consumption. The new e-Skyactiv PHEV powertrain delivers 322 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
CX-90 is one of the new models that Mazda will introduce to North America -Mexico included- in the next two years. The other two models will be CX-70 and CX-50. These three models will not reach Europe or Japan, for these markets the CX-60 and CX-80 models will be available.
These five new SUVs, plus an all-new Mazda6, are a ‘group of large products’ that are aimed at a more premium buyer and could help Mazda steal sales from brands like BMW and Lexus.
