Without a doubt, Mazatlán is an outstanding gastronomic destination in Mexico when it comes to seafood.. on this occasion broke a world record by preparing a shrimp cocktail weighing 1,701 kilograms.
The world’s largest shrimp cocktail
The preparation of this marine delicacy was in charge of various volunteers, cooks and students of Tourism and Gastronomy of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa. All of them were under the tutelage and guidance of expert chefs.
The Mazatlan shrimp cocktail that broke the Guinness Record its preparation began at midnight on February 3. After 16 hours of work, the cocktail was ready in a gigantic glass.
For the preparation of this cocktail, 1,367 kilos of shrimp were used, as well as several liters of salve prepared with onion, tomato, garlic, hot and English sauce.
Orange and pineapple juice was also added. Finally, to give it that characteristic flavor of the sea, they seasoned it with oregano, pepper, and salt.
