The foray of many brands into the tech world consisting of the metaverse and cryptocurrencies is attracting many firms across the globe. It was recently revealed that the financial brand Mastercard applied for the registration of at least 15 brands related to cryptocurrencies and the metaverse.
It seems to be a fashion for many companies, but the realization of projects in the metaverse is undoubtedly the future of all. According to data from Statista, the virtual world of the metaverse has begun its development hand in hand with technology giants such as Apple, Facebook, Microsoft or NVIDIA.
A report by Bloomberg Intelligence, in 2021 the value of the metaverse amounted to approximately 500,000 million US dollars and could increase fivefold by 2030.
Likewise, the statistics platform points out that investment in cryptocurrencies is quite popular in India, where in 2021 18 percent of respondents said they own bitcoins or altcoins.

According to data from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the payment processor Mastercard made the application on April 4, where it applied for at least 15 cryptocurrency and metaverse-related trademarks.

In this sense, one of the applications of the business firm that has a serial number of 97346029 highlights that “provision of an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of downloadable digital goods and media authenticated by non-fungible tokens.”
As well as the US patent attorney Mike Kondoudis pointed to the applications on Twitter, where he explains that another application includes plans for downloadable music files that would be backed by NFT, as well as other multimedia assets where illustrations, text, audio and video are included.

Recall that Mastercard was previously associated with the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase where they offered a series of cryptocurrency services, where according to the exchange service platform it mentioned that it requested “Mastercard’s help to improve the customer experience when purchasing digital collectibles by classifying NFTs as digital goods.”
Brands like Nike, Gucci, and the most recent like Rappi are betting on the world of NFTs, metaverse or cryptocurrencies.
