The decision was made after waking up on Wednesday to an email in which Musk asked them to fill out a form pledging to “work many hours at high intensity”.
After this email, the workers began to publish farewell messages on Thursday and announcing that they would not sign that document.

Subsequently, Twitter sent an email to the employees saying that the buildings would be temporarily closed and with immediate effect, according to The Wall Street Journal, which indicates that on Monday these offices would begin to reopen.

Musk and close aides urge employees not to leave
According to information from the Times, Musk himself and his closest advisers are meeting with the employees they consider essential to the operation of the company and asking them not to leave.

Musk has already undertaken a significant reduction in the workforce of the social network, where a few days after taking control he fired almost half of the around 7,500 employees that the company had.
