Let’s do a little memory, and go back to the final moments of the series hawk eyewhere we can see the Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrioas he is looking down the barrel of a gun held by his adopted daughter Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), only for the camera to pan when we hear the gun go off-screen, thus “implied” that they shot Wilson Fisk, but the catch is that the body is never shown, and as any comic book fan knows, if there’s no body, a character isn’t officially dead.
More if it is especially Kingpinand the reception D’Onofrio’s character received, which has managed to keep fans happy, along with the fact that Marvel is actively developing its own Daredevil series, where we think the character is very likely to return soon.
Additionally, a new rumor suggests that when the Kingpin returns, he’ll appear in a live-action adaptation of Marvel’s recent “Mayor Fisk” storyline, and that rumor comes from The Weekly Planet podcast, which suggests the villain will appear in most of the episodes of Threw out:
“Yeah, Daredevil is in it for three episodes, like in Charlie Cox. Kingpin, Vinnie D’Onofrio is in four. The Kingpin’s story is building up to him running for mayor of New York City. Apparently, will wear an eyepatch because he was shot in the head in Hawkeye… Daredevil will also wear a red and black suit and is looking for Jessica Jones.”
Now, in the Marvel source material, Fisk launched a mayoral campaign in the closing moments of Marvel’s run. Daredevil by Charles Soule and Stefano Landini, but due to some evil actions and benefactors with the deepest pockets of the Marvel universe, Fisk is elected mayor of New York, a position he held for four years until the events of Devil’s Reign.
As of yet, Marvel Studios has not confirmed whether Fisk or Daredevil will appear in the series, which is filming in Atlanta, but is expected to continue filming through October before it launches next year.
