In an Instagram post, the artist laid out what the goals of this powerful armor were. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will remember that the Mark 40 made a brief appearance in Iron Man 3. All of that armor that Tony Stark had created had a ton of different uses and settings. But the Mark 40 was especially powerful if used in the right situation. The team nicknamed this suit as the “shotgun” armor due to the speed associated with its design. When you see the images below, it’s easy to see how they came to that conclusion. Phil Saunders even mentions that Mark 40 was one of his favorite creations from the movie.
“By popular demand … Iron Man Mark 40. However, it was one of my favorite designs! ”
