Marvel has fooled its readers with one of the most controversial Spider-Man covers to date.
Comic book covers are a good way to get ahead what we will meet in history and Marvel knows it. Therefore, it is not explained why the company has resorted to misleading covers in the comic of The Amazing Spider-Man and this is something that has angered readers, who have felt cheated.
Marvel has messed with the most recent cover of the Spider-Man comic, in which we can see this character and Mary Jane, in which it was one of the couple’s most intense moments. If you want to know more details, we will tell you below, but you should know that this post contains spoilers of the The Amazing Spider-Man comic #2.
How has Marvel misled readers with the Spider-Man cover?
Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson They’ve been through a lot of hard times and challenges in their relationship over the years, so it doesn’t make sense for Marvel to use these moments to poke fun at the relationship and further mislead readers.
The cover of The Amazing Spider-Man comic #2created by Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.has become one of the most controversial to dateas the company pokes fun at Spider-Man’s problems that have ended up affecting Peter Parker’s personal life, specifically Mary Jane Watson.
On this cover, we can see Mary Jane crying while appearing to walk in the opposite direction to Spider-Man, as a symbolism of separation. But we can also see the arachnid hero, without a mask and suffering from this situation. But the real problem with this image is not the reference to this break, but rather that, on all the pages of the comic, the character of Mary Jane does not even appear. In fact, this nor is it mentioned.
This has outraged readers, who feel cheated because he has used a false image, which is not even appears in the comic, to advertise and attract attention. And if we take into account what was the conclusion of the comic #1 of this seriesthen it would make sense for the cover to show something of what we would find on its pages, but it is not.
Marvel has also teased Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s relationship
the end of the The Amazing Spider-Man comic #1showed us what seemed to be Mary Jane and her family, but one that she formed without Peter, since she has built her relationship with another man named Paul. Because of this, fans of Spider-Man’s adventures expected more information to be offered in the comic #2.
However, this information never came. In fact, marvel mocked with the cover of both characters separated and adding jokes of the style “the best couple in comics”.
Although comic book covers are designed to have interesting or engaging contentthat makes the public get hooked on the work and want to read it, it is very different to highlight or exaggerate some scene contained in it to invent one that has nothing to do with it.
Marvel has messed it up and the readers they feel cheated Precisely for this, since it is not a variant cover or anything like that, but an official one from the comic, which does not address anything in this image. This only makes fans lose trust in these posts.
