During the Marvel Studios panel held at CinemaCon 2022, the studio’s president Kevin Feig revealed that the company will soon hold a creative retreat to plan the next decade of stories set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Since most fans know there are often meetings to plan upcoming projects, knowing that much of the future of the MCU will be contemplated and fleshed out in the coming weeks is cause for excitement.
This past weekend marked three years since Avengers: Endgame was in theaters, and it did pretty well and provided great reminders of why it’s fun to sit in a giant room full of strangers and share an experience. That’s what it was all about. And there are moments that we all know, where it’s like, ‘Are we ever going to experience that again?’ And thanks to you, last year Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and of course with our friends at Sony, Spider-Man: No Way Home, showed that we can do that and showed that we can keep doing it. And we thank all of you for making that really happen. It is amazing and overwhelming for me to be a part of this business. We make these movies to be seen in your theaters on big screens with huge crowds.
I just left this morning and will be back as soon as I get off stage, for our first in-person creative retreat with the Marvel Studios creative team in three years. And we have a giant board there that takes us through the next decade of MCU movies, and they’re different and unique and special, and they’re destined for your theaters.
