It could not be another. We spent too many months thinking about who could replace the incredible Hugh Jackman as Wolverinesespecially since Marvel regained the rights to the X-Men. Well, if something works, it’s best to leave it as it is, and that’s what the house of ideas has done: Jackman is back and he will in Deadpool 3.
This Tuesday, September 27, who has been in charge of cheering us up in the afternoon has been Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool in the antihero movies. The 45-year-old actor posted a video on his official Twitter account in which he reveals that the third film will hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
The end of the video includes a spectacular logo for Deadpool 3, ripped precisely by Wolverinethe favorite mutant of the marvelites and who will return to the big screen embodied again by Jackman, another of Reynolds’ confirmations in the video.
The funny dialogue between Ryan and Hugh
In the video, Ryan Reynolds explains that he feels very sad to have missed the last edition of D23, since he has been working on the next Deadpool movie, which will be his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU, for its acronym in English).
Curiously, he does not appear with the suit that we have all seen of his character, but with a black one, reminiscent of one he used when he teamed up with Wolverine and Echo in the comics, by the way, the latter recently landed in the MCU in the series Hawkeye.
Returning to the video, Reynolds details the preparation he needs to play Deadpool, with the touch of humor that characterizes the actor. At the end of the clip, he exclaims “but we had an idea” and immediately speaks directly to Hugh Jackman.
“Hey Hugh. Would you like to play Wolverine one more time??” Ryan asks, while Hugh replies, “Yeah sure Ryan”.
We don’t know if it will be Hugh Jackman’s last dance as Wolverine in a Marvel movie after Logan (2017), but his return in Deadpool 3, which opens on September 6, 2024, opens the door to the possibility that his return for more than just a single tape.
