It’s been a week since 2022 started and analysts are making their predictions to what we will see from the video game industry, with speculation of the games that could be announced and released this year. One of the rumors says that Mario Kart 9 is being developed for the Nintendo Switch and it would be announced later this year.
The Gamesindustri.biz site made a compilation of predictions made by analysts in the video game industry, among which is the Dr. Serkan Totoby Kantan Games. Toto predicts a Mario Kart 9 ad from Nintendo, in addition to a new video game for mobile devices from a franchise that has not yet made its debut on these platforms.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling video game on the Nintendo Switch, which actually started 2022 as the best-selling video game in the UK. On the sales charts, Mario Kart 8 does not usually leave the Top 5 best-selling video games, despite having been released almost five years ago on the Nintendo Switch and almost eight years ago on the Nintendo Wii U. Therefore, it is already time for a new installment from Nintendo, which surely has been developing Mario Kart 9 for years.
Mario Kart games usually offer a change in their gameplay and Mario Kart 9 would not be the exception, since Dr. Serkan Toto says that the new installment would come with a change. Just as Mario Kart Double Dash featured two characters per vehicle and Mario Kart 8 featured anti-gravity, Mario Kart 9 for Nintendo Switch would present a new proposal for the series, although Toto did not clarify what it would be.

For a couple of years Nintendo has been venturing into the market for mobile devices, creating exclusive experiences with gameplay proposals similar to those of your console games. According to Toto, this year we will see the arrival of a new Nintendo franchise on mobile phones, following the example of Pikmin last year, as well as Fire Emblem and Mario Kart previously.
