Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling video game on the Nintendo Switch, which actually started 2022 as the best-selling video game in the UK. On the sales charts, Mario Kart 8 does not usually leave the Top 5 best-selling video games, despite having been released almost five years ago on the Nintendo Switch and almost eight years ago on the Nintendo Wii U. Therefore, it is already time for a new installment from Nintendo, which surely has been developing Mario Kart 9 for years.

Mario Kart games usually offer a change in their gameplay and Mario Kart 9 would not be the exception, since Dr. Serkan Toto says that the new installment would come with a change. Just as Mario Kart Double Dash featured two characters per vehicle and Mario Kart 8 featured anti-gravity, Mario Kart 9 for Nintendo Switch would present a new proposal for the series, although Toto did not clarify what it would be.
