This is how when we see the first 99 episodes (of 167) we do not find Mario Castaneda (Goku); Rene Garcia (Vegeta), Gerardo Reyes (Frieza); Laura Torres (Gohan) and neither to Charles Second (Piccolo).
Castañeda himself explained in an interview with the YouTube channel SheronZ, the reasons why they were not part of those first episodes.
“We had a financial arrangement when we dubbed Dragon Ball Z and GT. So when Kai came we asked no more but no less and the answer was ‘no budget’. And then I said: thank you very much, but no. I can’t,” Mario Castañeda said.
Fortunately, for the remaining 69 episodes, they gathered the main crew because Dragon Ball Super was already in the plans and Toei Animation made sure that all those who have made this series great continue to be part of the phenomenon.
