Since its premiere almost a couple of weeks ago, House of The Dragon has become an instant hit, as its episodes have captivated fans of game of Thrones. And while everything is hunky-dory, it seems that there are some changes within the team, that includes the departure of the co-showrunner, Miguel Sapochnik.
Sources say he is coming out after spending three grueling years of effort on game of Thrones. The co-creator, Ryan Countywill now serve as the show’s sole executive producer and will continue to work closely with George R.R. Martin. sapochnik also signed an agreement with HBO to develop new projects and will remain a lower-ranking producer for the duration of the series.
The production has hired another veteran of ThronesAlan Taylor to serve as executive producer and direct multiple episodes in the following season.
This is what he declared sapochnik Regarding your output:
Working within the Thrones universe for the last few years has been an honor and a privilege, especially spending the last two with the incredible cast and crew of House of the Dragon. I am so proud of what we accomplished with Season 1 and delighted by the enthusiastic reaction from our viewers. It was incredibly difficult to decide to move on, but I know it’s the right choice for me, personally and professionally. However, as I do, I take deep comfort knowing that Alan will be joining the series. He is someone I have known and respected for a long time, and I think this beautiful series could not be in better hands. I am very happy to continue to be a part of HBO and House of the Dragon and of course I wish Ryan and his team success and all the best in Season 2 and beyond.
Remember that the series is available in hbo max.
