Lucas Di Grassi will continue to be a major asset on the Formula E grid. Despite the fact that Audi’s departure from the category left the Brazilian in a delicate situation, Di Grassi has moved quickly to continue his career in the electric championship. In one of the star moves of the ‘silly season’ from ‘Season Eight’, Lucas Di Grassi has signed for the Venturi Racing team, structure in which he will team up with Edo Mortara. Thus, the Monegasque structure builds a high-flying lineup with which to fight for great goals in the 2021-22 season.
Di Grassi lands in Venturi with a brilliant record. Champion in the 2016-17 season, the Brazilian is the most experienced rider on the grid: «Anyone who knows me knows how competitive I am. Driving for a team that can lead was essential for me. Venturi is the best option and I am very happy to join the team. I have followed his performance and his last season was very good. You can see that the team has made a lot of progress and they have shown clear improvement across the board. I raced the Venturi cars last year and could see how competitive they were. I’m happy to ride together with Edo, we’ve known each other for a long time».
For its part, Edo Mortara will continue in the team after a great 2020-21 season: «I am very happy to continue in the team and to welcome Lucas. We had a very strong season this year, my best campaign in Formula E so far. Without a doubt, my results have been a testament to the hard work of the team. We are on a good track record and we want to maintain that in the future. I have raced against Lucas in the past and he is always competitive. He is very good when it comes to energy management, one of the most critical points for success in Formula E.
