The outlook for the Moto2 class at the Jerez circuit remains the same as the one we saw last week. Luca Marini, who won the race and proved himself the fastest driver , has returned to command in the FP2 in Andalusia. His time of 1: 41.992 puts him at the top of the table.
In general, the VR46 team continues in its line. Marini has been the fastest but it is that who has followed him is Marco Bezzecchi, who has taken the fright of the day . He fell down ten minutes from the end and his bike was on fire. The former Moto3 runner-up already fell in last week’s race, so that’s bad news for him.
The picture is the same from seven days ago. The only team capable of standing up to the VR46 is the KTM. Tetsuta Nagashima, the World Cup leader, has finished the second free practice with the fourth fastest time, while Jorge Martín has been fifth. The duel between KTM and the VR46 is served .
The surprise factor is Jorge Navarro. The Valencian has got third, between the KTM and the VR46 . And it is not a novelty, since in the Spanish Grand Prix we already saw that he was the only one capable of challenging these two teams. The problem is that the Speed Up fell in the first corner, so his pace is unknown.
In any case, it should be borne in mind that the free practice times in the afternoon have been slower than those in the morning, a general trend in all three categories. But still, the picture does not change too much, because in the FP1 the fastest remained the five chosen for Moto2 .
Out of this quintet, Sam Lowes has finished sixth and Thomas Luthi seventh . The Swiss, former 125cc champion, seems a little stronger in Andalusia than he was in Spain, but he is still far from victory, which was his usual position in previous seasons. We will see if you have simply choked on the circuit or there is something else.
Aron Canet, twelfth, was even more discreet today , even behind his partner Hafizh Syahrin . The Speed Up rookie continues to do very well in his first year, especially if we compare him with other newcomers who also generated great expectations, such as Marcos Ramírez or Lorenzo Dalla Porta.

Still, Ramírez has improved today and has been seventeenth, even ahead of Joe Roberts, who impressed in Qatar but has returned to normal in Jerez. Augusto Fernández has also been somewhat looser in his new team , but his results are still pitiful. Today ended twentieth.
