Although the winter holidays, full of Christmas gifts and Three Wise Men, are over, you can still give your inner movie lover that collectible artifact that they have always wanted. The star is nothing less than a wooden replica of Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. A limited edition figure that emulates the one used by the filmmaker for the configuration of the tape.
The seven-inch wooden puppet is part of a new set collectible from Insight Editions. The 1:1 scale figure, in addition to being a most exact replica, was built under the supervision of Guillermo del Toro. As well as the original ShadowMachine sculptors who worked on the film.
It comes with the book Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio: A Timeless Tale Told New. Which is a limited edition because it contains a different cover than the one released previously. This cover is produced by Guy Davis, who was the designer and co-producer of the film.
The aforementioned book was written by Gina McIntyre and contains a foreword by Guillermo del Toro. In its pages, the reader will be able to learn everything about the particular journey that culminated in the Netflix movie. From the first ideas of the Mexican filmmaker, to the character design, the construction of the models and the arduous process of animation in stop motionand the design of post-production visual effects.
In addition, McIntyre’s book contains exclusive interviews and testimonials from the cast and crew. The words and experiences of people like Gregory Mann, Ewan McGregor and Finn Wolfhard, are contained in its pages. Of course, those of the director from Guadalajara too.
The set also includes a card signed by Guillermo del Toro, co-director Mark Gustafson, and co-writer Patrick McHale. The entire cocktail is contained within an elaborate wooden box, handcrafted and ornate with hand-carved details.
