The Line It is the city of the moment, the one that is most talked about today. A project launched in 2016 as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, with a budget of 500 billion dollars and for which we have been working since October of this year.
This Arab city is proclaimed as the most futuristic in the world, a metropolis that works in the same structure of 34 square kilometers. They are two skyscrapers that are about 500 meters high and draw a surprising line in the middle of the desert in the Middle East who live up to their name.
The buildings will have two meters of separation between the two and will allow enough space for the 9 million residentsliving in three dimensions: up, down and across.
Although The Line is the most talked about, there are other projects under development in renowned countries that also aim to be the most futuristic cities in the world. With information from I sleptwe detail them below.
Masdar
Located just outside of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Masdar is under construction and will be a green technology business hub. It already works with renewable energies such as solar, so it does not generate carbon like The Line, and public transport will be electric.
songdo
Songdo is a South Korean city where all household appliances are controlled with apps and has a park in the center of the city to counteract polluting emissions.
Kitchen waste may be thrown into tunnels that will lead to a waste processing center to be recycled or disposed of efficiently.
Amsterdam, Barcelona and Shanghai
The capital of the Netherlands has a floating neighborhood that is home to about a thousand people and due to rising sea levels, the project is expected to be expanded.
For its part, Barcelona has just bought several smart projects such as charging units for electric cars and LED lights to save energy on the streets.
Finally, Shanghai, with more than 20 million inhabitants, is one of today’s futuristic cities, the first to incorporate Maglev trains, which work with magnetic levitation and reach a speed of 431 km/h.
