We love a good guacamole with tortilla chips. It is a fabulous snack that, to date, we used to reserve for special and celebratory occasions. However, since we figured out how to do light homemade tortilla chips, nothing stops us when it comes to indulging ourselves.
With this recipe the tortilla chips they are prepared in the oven and the result is much healthier than when we make them fried. Not to mention the industrial ones that, in addition to fats, are loaded with flavorings, preservatives and other undesirable substances.
It is a very simple recipe, which takes a very short time to prepare. In less than 15 minutes they are ready and left tremendously crispy. Only two ingredients are needed: corn tortillas and extra virgin olive oil. And as tools, a long-bladed knife, a brush and an oven. Do you dare with them?
We cut the corn tortillas into eight triangles. To go faster and what all remain the same We place the tortillas in a tower and, with a sharp long-bladed knife, we make two cuts, in the shape of a cross. Then we cut each piece in two.
We place the corn tortilla triangles on two or three baking trays, in a single layer. We brush them with a very thin layer of extra virgin olive oil. We can do it on both sides, this is optional.
We put the trays in the oven, preheated to 180 ºC with heat up and down, and cook the chips for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the trays before serving with guacamole or your favorite dip.
