Be careful, I am talking about commemorating and not celebrating because there is not much to celebrate. The oceans are our life, they are a vital part of the planet and today we are facing great and unprecedented problems.

In short, to better ground the context, today June 8th marks World Oceans Day and that is why I would like to make a brief reflection on the subject and also contemplate 5 advertising pieces that have sought to add a grain of salt to achieve something about this big problem.

Here are some hard facts from the UN regarding this serious problem:

    1. In the last 150 years, approximately half of the living corals have been lost.
    2. Plastic pollution in the oceans has increased tenfold in the last 40 years.
    3. One third of fish stocks are overexploited.
    4. Dead zones—undersea deserts where life cannot thrive due to lack of oxygen—are increasing rapidly, both in size and number.

Regarding the commemoration, the textual objective is as follows:

“The purpose of the Day is to inform about the impact of humans on the ocean, develop a global movement of support and unite the population in a project for the sustainable management of our seas.”

Suddenly we are involved in so many issues and personal problems and we see thousands of other emergencies on the planet that we forget this one, and that is why, in addition to having conscientiously left you this summary, I also want to leave you these extraordinary pieces of communication that address the problem.

What will fishing be like by 2050, what will we have left?

Sometimes the problem can also be the solution and both help the planet and its inhabitants, I won’t tell you more, better stop by to see it.

Wow, not only raising awareness but making a quick and easy donation that will also give exposure to the ocean, a phenomenal idea.

They do not have the technology, they do not have the necessary resources and they will not have them, it is up to us to act.

HHere are 5 interesting and desperate examples, we do not understand and we do not stop scratching ourselves with our own nails.

We don’t have much time left, let’s commemorate, understand what is important and act.
