The popular consultation did not reach the necessary votes to be binding. According to data from the National Electoral Institute (INE), only between 7.07% and 7.74% of the citizens registered in the nominal list participated, and at least 40% were necessary.
In an extraordinary session, the president counselor of the INE, Lorenzo Córdova, announced the opinion ranges of the quick count, which indicate that of those who participated, 89.36% to 96.28% chose “YES”, and from 1.38% to 9.21 % decided for “NO”.
He clarified that the information on the quick count is preliminary, as he said that the official results will be known tomorrow as soon as the district computations that began tonight conclude and will be sent to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) to determine the constitutional effects of this exercise.
The question that was put to consultation was: “Do you agree or not that the pertinent actions be carried out, in accordance with the constitutional and legal framework, to undertake a process of clarification of the political decisions taken in the past years by political actors, aimed at guaranteeing justice and the rights of potential victims? “

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of the INE, Edmundo Jacobo Molina, pointed out that 57 thousand 70 tables were installed, 99.99% of those programmed; that is, seven reception tables were not installed, which are equivalent to 0.01% of those approved by the district boards.
He mentioned that a total of 1,142 incidents were received, of which 50.96% were resolved. Among the most recurrent incidents: citizens gave their opinion without a credential, which was 262 cases; permanent or prolonged absence of an official from the receiving table, 182 cases; change of place of the receiving table with just cause, 136 cases; propaganda inside or outside the tables, 96 cases.
In addition, there were 24 irregularities, where the vote was suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions in the State of Mexico and Oaxaca.
During the day, it was documented that the receiving tables looked semi-empty; in addition to the confusion of some citizens to find these places to express their opinion, as they complained that it was not where they usually vote.
This was due to the fact that a third of the polls that were placed on June 6, the day of the elections, were installed, since they went from 163 thousand to 57 thousand. This is due to the fact that the INE’s budget was cut.
