A few days ago we had the opportunity to see from Warner Bros and TT Games the new installment of the LEGO franchise, which will contain the 9 numbered episodes of the film saga created by George Lucas back in 1977. In this title we will be able to enjoy from the last two episodes (“The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker”) along with the previous ones, remade from scratch for this game.
TT Games already said at the time that this LEGO was going to be the most ambitious ever created, and after having been able to enjoy an extensive presentation by various developers, along with a 2-hour session where we were able to play the title, we can confirm that yes: this delivery is without a doubt the most ambitious of the company, due to many aspects that we will be dealing with during these first impressions of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
The entire Star Wars film saga
For the first time in history, we will have at our disposal the entire saga of numbered films on a single disc, to be able to enjoy the journey from its beginning (Episode I, II and III) to its outcome (Episode VII, VIII and IX). The best thing of all is that, as we are used to in LEGO games, we will be able to listen to the wonderful original soundtrack composed by John Williams, while we relive the most iconic moments of the saga, but in the world of LEGO.
This time the developer studio has spared nothing, since in addition to faithfully recreating all the events we see in the movies, it also we will be able to explore all the locations that we see during all the episodeswith a level of fidelity that borders on perfection, being able to walk the streets of Coruscant, explore the frozen wastelands of Hoth or the desert of Jakku, among many other places, while using our favorite characters.
The most ambitious LEGO game ever created
From the beginning, we were promised that with this installment they were going to create the most ambitious LEGO title ever made, and from what we have been able to see, and prove, they were absolutely right. It is no longer just have more than 300 characters that we can control, nor the immense amount of secondary content that we will have to discover to get 100% of the title. What is most surprising are all the changes that have been made, and that they feel like a glove.
These changes that we are talking about are, for example, at the playable level, since the combat system has been redonebeing able to attack by making combos and with a life bar, eliminating the mythical hearts, or changing to a camera much closer to the character and totally free at all times, something that is appreciated.
In addition, its visual section has been improved to levels that the LEGO characters look so, and so well, that it depends on where we are (desert, snow or jungle), all LEGO pieces will be affected by the weather, and we will see how they are stained, a great detail. The entire lighting and animation theme has the level that we would expect from a title of this franchise, and even so, it has left us very surprised with the great work of TT Games.
A galaxy far, far away… Within our reach
Thanks to the opportunity we had to test Episode IV in full, we can say that this title promises to give fans of both LEGO and Star Wars a game that will remain in the memory as one of the most faithful titles to the George Lucas franchise. It shows in every detail, in every design decision that the TT Games team has wanted to offer Star Wars fans, the galaxy in which we have spent so many moments.
Not only will we have the main story to follow, but each planet will have its secrets, its minikits to get, secondary missions to complete and hundreds of characters to get, all this being able to choose whether to do it alone or with another companion. Also, for those who are wondering: yes, we will be able to play the game with human voices, or go back to the mythical “chatter” of the LEGO games.
Without a doubt, all staunch fans of LEGO and Star Wars have a mandatory appointment on April 5, day in which we can get hold of this title that promises to give us so many hours of fun, along with classic characters such as Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Yoda or Darth Vader himself. As if that were not enough, this title will serve as an incentive to wait (more) eagerly for the future Obi-Wan Kenobi series, so there is only one more thing left to say… May the Force be with us, all of us.
