Leadership after COVID

Leadership after COVID

The workplace has completely changed. We were forced in a matter of days to adopt remote work schemes.

These changes also had an impact on organizations and leaders who had to adapt to maintain productivity, while taking care of employees and maintaining productivity, motivation, a sense of belonging, among others.

The needs of all people changed. Certainty, meaning and connection took on a relevance never seen before in the workplace, the role and behavior of the leader had to adapt to meet these needs and labor relations ceased to be merely transactional, emphasizing the human part. It was evident that the leader plays a fundamental role in the emotional well-being of the collaborators.

The crisis derived from COVID 19 brought many learnings coupled with new forms of work that demanded to be more efficient, develop new skills and reduce resistance to change. In addition to requiring, so to speak, a new sense of creativity and innovation to solve problems, because those leaders and companies capable of responding with agility had better results.

“Thanks to an unforeseen moment in our history, we will be forced to continue developing new skills to truly lead, more effectively than before, knowing that now a collaborator values and appreciates a formative leader more than a manager, who feels valued and taken into account when finding new ways of operating”, expresses Amira Abdel, an expert consultant on training issues for leadership in Zimat Consultants.

In terms of employees, there is a new sense of belonging in organizations. Those who remained in the company value more the actions that the organization takes for their well-being, no matter how small, capitalizing on this assessment will have repercussions on the transformation and relevance of the organization.
