What sets Kushki apart from other competitors and what growth potential does it have?
Sebastian Castro: What sets us apart from the vast majority of payment companies, at least in Latin America, is that we played towards the infrastructure as such and that is essential when wanting to package a solution that has everything: the best rate, the better uptimethe best fraud controls, the best operation, that is, there is a lot of human operation in what we do, because there are still imperfect ecosystems in Latin America and very little digitalized many times and Kushki interacts with that ecosystem, so having built the infrastructure instead I think that we are only reselling layers of iterative value that sets us apart a lot and it is precisely the reason why we decided to create Kuski Mundial, because we realized that there were, above all, many payment providers.
Kushi Mundial is aimed at other payment providers that operate outside of Latin America, but have processing volumes in the region and so Kushki now becomes a one stop shop for all of Latam in which those companies that typically have foreign businesses outside the region can now provide them with the services of being able to process in Latin America, and above all we take away the gigantic headache of integrating locally into payment methods, all our markets They are complex in that sense, due to regulatory issues or archaic technology.
You recently acquired Billpocket. What is behind this strategy?
Sebastian Castro: Billpocket makes an integral complement to what Kushki already was, which is infrastructure and online payments, and Billpocket is terminal logistics and offline payments, it is a perfect complement that allows us to offer an omnichannel solution throughout the region, starting in Mexico, but from next year we will surely expand the services in the markets where we are.
What expansion plans do you have for the coming years?
Sebastian Castro: There it is time to separate what is product and commercial strategy. In terms of product, we will always be focused on Latin America, because there is still a lot to do, both to innovate and to standardize payment processes throughout the region that will take us a lifetime. On the commercial side, with Kushki Mundial we begin to see the power of showing what we have done outside the region and giving that value to payment providers who want to connect to Latin America.
We will continue with our mission of connecting Latin America with payments, I really believe that we will not stop until we have the most complete payment pipeline in the region, that we can connect any country in any currency and any payment method.
