KTM 790 Duke has been waiting for a long time in the Indian market. This powerful naked bike will be launched in the Indian market on 23 September. Booking has started at select KTM dealerships in the country, where the bike can be booked for 30 thousand rupees. It is already available in the international market. Its look is quite sharp and aggressive.
The KTM 790 Duke has a 799cc, twin-cylinder engine. This engine generates 103 hp power at 9,000 rpm and 87 Nm torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. It will get 4 riding modes, including Sport, Street, Rain, and Track.
This powerful naked bike from KTM has 43 mm upside-down telescopic fork at the front and mono-shock suspension at the rear. 300 mm twin discs have been given at the front and 240 mm disc brakes at the rear. The bike will get Bosch 9MP2-channel ABS.
Price
Reports state that the 790 Duke will come as a CKD unit (in unassembled individual parts) in the Indian market. It is likely that only 100 bikes will be allotted for the first year. Right now the bike will come with BS4 engine. Its BS6 version will be launched in the market next year. It is believed that the company is doing this to keep the launching price low. The 790 Duke is expected to be priced around Rs 8 lakh.
Competitive bikes
The 790 Duke will rival bikes such as the Yamaha MT-09, Triumph Street Triple RS, Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900 and Suzuki Suzuki SUZUKI GSX-R750.
