Will Zenitsu finally stop being the joke of the Kimetsu no Yaiba community?
It is inevitable that in works as big as Kimetsu no Yaiba there are characters who take the leading role more than another. For example, Tanjiro Kamado is definitely the demon slayer with the most epic moments within the anime series and Ufotable, the animation studio responsible for his adaptation, has been able to portray them in an impressive way. However, there are other favorites like Zenitsu Agatsuma who, despite their funny (or borderline weird) scenes, have their moments to shine in some epic battles. In the Mugen Train Arc, we saw him fight a lot of demons in order to help Nezuko-chan, and now in the Red Light District Arc, he has had a chance to show his true and hidden power.
In the sixth chapter of the Red District Arc of Kimetsu no Yaiba, it began with one of its most epic scenes in which Zenitsu was able to demonstrate all his power against Inosuke Hashibira, his great partner. While Tanjiro Kamado was in a tough fight with Daki, the blonde fighter along with his partner had the mission of breaking the pieces of cloth that contained part of the demon’s power. But nevertheless, the powerful demon moon knowingly set a trap for them, but Zenitsu showed the demon his true power… falling asleep.
Mfs lucky Zenitsu too busy being a wimp because he’d easily be the most badass character in Demon Slayer. pic.twitter.com/xK2RsiwmXh

Yes, you heard that right. Once again, Zenitsu managed to tap into his full power as a demon slayer, completely lost in his dreams. In Daki’s original plan, his pieces of cloth would attack them and take the two demon slayers by surprise, in fact, Inosuke failed to foresee this silent deadly attack. However, as Zenitsu’s keen hearing still works when he is asleep, took advantage of this waking moment to use his first Thunder Breath stance to destroy the trap in seconds.
The true power of Zenitsu in Kimetsu no Yaiba
Inosuke himself is perplexed at Zenitsu Agatsuma’s display of power. and asks him if he would prefer to fall asleep in the rest of the battles they have. And while this option seems the most viable and would make him more powerful, it would end up crippling the blonde demon hunter. Sure, he can access his true power when he’s asleep, but when Zenitsu is awake, fear gnaws at him and he can barely react to any demonic being as we’ve seen on other occasions in Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Fortunately, it seems that the swordsman is making progress in that aspect, but he still has a long way to go, so unless Zenitsu becomes narcoleptic, he must keep his unconscious habit at bay until he can control it while awake and overcome his fears. There is still the question of whether he will be able or not, we will see this throughout Kimetsu no Yaiba. Be that as it may, let’s hope to see more of Zenitsu Agatsuma’s sleepy battles that always manage to impress his fans.
