In Cinemascomics we have analyzed the domestic edition of the pack Blu-ray + DVD + Kickboxer Booklet. This film marked the consecration of Jean-Claude Van Damme (The Last Mercenary) as an action movie star.

The film was released in theaters in 1989, being directed by Mark DiSalle (Perfect Weapon) and David Worth (The Shadow of the Assassin) and written by Glenn Bruce, from an original idea by the lead actor himself. In addition to the Belgian actor, the cast includes Dennis Alexio (Operation Vengeance), Michel Qissi (Bloody Contact), Dennis Chan (The Man with the Iron Fists) and Rochelle Ashana (The A-Team).

The tape has been reissued on Blu-ray, available at all points of sale while stocks last, being distributed in Spain in physical format by Select Vision, and it is also available for rent and digital sale, through the main platforms operating in Spain. Although the action film star did not appear in the four sequels starring Sasha Mitchell and Mark Dacascos (between 1991 and 1995), he did decide to return to the saga with Kickboxer: Vengeance (2016) and Kickboxer: Counterattack (2018) ), now starring Alain Moussi (Jiu Jitsu).
