Constantine is a 2005 supernatural thriller film directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Keanu Reeves. The plot centers on the character of John Constantine, an exorcist and demon hunter working in Los Angeles.
At the time, the film was received by film critics with mixed reactions, with a box office response of just $230.9 million.
However, at a time in the film industry where large companies have dedicated themselves to ‘rescuing’ films from the past, a group of fans have requested a sequel to the original DC Comics story.
These requests have reached the ears of Reeves, who has already participated in classics of the past such as ‘The Matrix’, and in an interview he was enthusiastic about a possible sequel, despite warning that its realization is very difficult.

Sequel to ‘Constantine’
As part of the promotion of the film ‘John Wick 4’, the American actor gave an interview with Collider magazine, where he revealed how viable the making of a possible sequel to this film is.
“DC is reevaluating whether or not they want to do a Constantine with me in the movie… So let’s cross our fingers”
The actor is optimistic about the project, however, everything depends on the CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn, who is developing the entire cinematographic universe of the superhero house.
DC Elseworlds
It is important to remember that despite the construction of the ‘DCU’ (DC Cinematic Universe), in the presentation to the public that Gunn had a few weeks agoa “parallel world” called “DC Elseworlds” was given rise where DC projects will come to life, outside of the set of films that will be intertwined in the future.
In that universe is where films like The Batman by Matt Reeves and Joker by Todd Phillips coexist.
Therefore, crafting a sequel to “Constantine” wouldn’t affect Gunn’s plans with DC much.
