After learning that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is going to premiere worldwide on March 18 and that we will be able to see it through HBO Spain, the news about the Snyder Cut continues and will only make fans, even more, want to see the movie.
And it is that Zack Snyder himself has revealed that a new character will appear in his court of Justice League. A character that has actually been appearing since Man of Steel, and was going to have scenes in the original version of Justice League.
It is neither more nor less than Martian Manhunter, one of DC’s most powerful heroes and founder of The Justice League. J’onn J’onzz (his “real” name) has so far been played by Harry Lennix, just that nobody knew.
Lennix has played General Swanwick in Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman. It was going to be in Justice League where his true identity was revealed but it was not possible to do so in the version that made it to the cinema.
Since he had not appeared and Snyder was never able to record the scenes in question before leaving the project, the existence of the character was never known until now. The director himself has shared an image of The Justice League on Twitter with a phrase from Martian Manhunter: “there is a war on the way.”

It is true that the man in the image looks more Cyborg than J’onzz, however, Martian Manhunter can take the form of other people so it would not be surprising if the concept was showing us exactly that.
In addition to Snyder’s confirmation, Harry Lennix himself, who until now we knew as Swanwick, stated in an interview with Collider that he is indeed Martian Manhunter and that he has been able to record the scenes necessary for his story to make sense within the Snyder Cut of The Justice League.
The original idea of the director was to introduce the true identity of the character through a scene with Lois and Martha Kent. What we were going to see was Lois and Martha talking, and when Martha left the room, we would see her transform into Martian Manhunter, thus revealing the existence of the character.
Will we see this scene in Zack Snyder’s Justice League? Will Martian Manhunter have more minutes? Will we see him fight alongside Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Cyborg? We will have to wait until March 18 to find out.
