Within the framework of AnimeJapan 2023, TOHO revealed the official trailer, poster, release date, and more details about the highly anticipated Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen. This will adapt both the “Kaigyoku / Gyokusetsu” arc and the “Shibuya Incident”.
The franchise is still in studio hands MAPPAstudio behind the first season and the movie jujutsu kaisen 0 (2021). Shota Goshozono, who is in charge of episodes 8 and 17 of the anime, will replace Sunghoo Park as director, who founded his own studio to pursue other projects. However the staff will see the return of several key members of the previous productions; including screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, character designer Tadashi Hiramatsu, and composer Yoshimasa Terui.
The first part of Jujutsu Kaisen: Season 2 will feature the return of the voices of Yuichi Nakamura (Satoru Gojo), Takahiro Sakurai (Suguru Geto) and Aya Endo (Shoko Ieiri). The additions to the cast of Anna Nagase (Ushio in Summer Time Rendering) as Riko Amanai and Takehito Koyasu (Zeke in Attack on Titan) as Touji Fushiguro.

Jujutsu Kaisen began its serialization in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump in March 2018. The Shūeisha publishing house has compiled the story in 22 volumes so far and already has more than 70 million copies in circulation. Yuji Itadori is a high school student with incredible physical abilities who leads a normal life. This is the story of a high school student who carries a curse with him in order to exorcise it. Unable to turn back, his aggressive adventure begins to unfold.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Season 2 will start airing from July 6, 2023 during two courses (quarters) consecutive. The trailer and visual focus precisely on the “Kaigyoku / Gyokusetsu” arc, with a trip to the past, year 2006, to know the life of Gojo and Geto students.
