The last two years, 2020 and 2021, have been of great complications for the entertainment industries, all, of course, derived from the Covid-19 pandemic, which, to this day, registers more than 580 million positive cases and 6.42 million deaths since the start of the health emergency.
Among the industries that registered million-dollar losses is the powerful cinema machinery, which, in Mexico alone and according to data from the 2020 Mexican Cinema Statistical Yearbook carried out by the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE), recorded attendance at movie theaters of 55 million people, which, in box office revenues, represents up to 3 thousand 153 million pesosthat is, a drop of 83 percent compared to what was reported in 2019.
The year before the pandemic, more than 340 million people went to movie theaters, leaving economic profits of 18 thousand 659 million pesos. This means that, in 2020, monetary losses were up to 15.5 billion pesos per exhibition.
Now, for 2021, also with IMCINE data, By the end of the year, income of 7 thousand 302 million pesos was reported, a situation that the institution itself described as “the road to recovery for Mexican cinema.”

This is how Juanpa Zurita did the voice for ‘Hank, the samurai dog’
Already well into 2022, things have changed for the industry due to the return, above all, of viewers to theaters and a long list of productions that were released, that are about to be released very soon and with several being developed to reach both in 2023 as in 2024.
One of the ones that is about to be launched, tomorrow, is ‘Hank, the samurai dog’, which, among some curiosities that it presents, is the voice of the influencer Juanpa Zurita, one of the most popular content creators in Mexico.
Through a video posted on his TikTok account, Juanpa Zurita shared a little about his experience about what it was like to record the voice for the character of “Hank”also earning the approval of a significant number of followers.

The strategy itself is not surprising, since today influencers generate a great impact for brands and audiences, since, according to what Postcron mentions, 66 percent of users are more trusting of reviews posted by influencers.
Thus, something similar happened with Luisito Comunica, who lent his voice to the character of “Sonic” and through his TikTok account showed some of the work he did.

Currently, Mexico is considered one of the countries with the best dubbing in Spanish. In addition, the dubbing actor can charge between 10 and 30 thousand pesos per feature film in a leading role, although this can increase up to 100 thousand pesos, taking into account the character, the product and if the actor is someone recognized.
