It’s been a long wait for the fourth movie of John Wickbut it will finally be released next year, and during the first look at John Wick: Chapter 4revealed in trailer where we realized that news about the film continues to arrive, including the revelation that the fourth installment will be the longest film in the franchise.
That’s right, according to Chad Stahelskywho has been the director of all the John Wick movies, in a recent interview talked about what we can expect from this fourth movie, and stressed that it included a little more mythology compared to previous installments.
“I love mythology. I love good mythos. I don’t really believe, at least for the John Wick movies, in a three-act structure. I believe in telling stories and leaving them. You know, we’ve always seen John Wick as Odysseus . So we take the time we need to tell the story. As long as we don’t fall asleep watching it, we’ll continue it. But I guess there’s a limit in the bathroom.”
“Ninjas in Cars I Guess”Stahelski joked after being asked how one bests ninjas on motorcycles. “I don’t know! They’re always ninjas, man”so according to what was revealed earlier this year, John Wick: Chapter 4 was presented at CinemaCon and the president of Lionsgate, joe draketalked about the new movie:
“Chad, as you may know, was a stuntman first. It’s rare that people go from driving off cliffs to sitting in the director’s chair… Usually it’s the other way around. We worked with Chad on The Expendables in 2010. He had the most unique perspective on stunts we’d ever seen. We made a bet that Chad’s vision, coupled with Keanu’s unique screen presence, would rewrite the action genre. And that bet paid off for everyone.”
“Moviegoers told us that watching the first Wick was like watching the genre evolve before their eyes, with fight scenes crazier and somehow more real than anything they’d ever seen. Guided by Chad in the director’s chair and Baba Yaga himself, these incredible filmmakers continue to subvert genre conventions and defy audience expectations.”
“More tradition. More inventive. Exquisite locations. From the Roman Catacombs to Halle Berry shooting out of Casablanca. From John killing a 7-foot-tall hitman with a library book. to the horses galloping across the endless dunes of the Jordan desert.
