John Carmack leaves Goal. The legendary programmer Doom, quake and pioneer of virtual reality in Oculus VR, closed another cycle and resigned from his position as a consultant in the company. In an internal message reported by The New York Times Y Business Insider, Carmack showed su dissatisfied with Meta’s advancement in the VR arena.
“It’s been a struggle for me,” Carmack said. “We built something pretty close to the right thing. The problem is our efficiency,” he declared. The former CTO at Oculus revealed that the Meta operates half as effectively, despite having a ridiculous number of people and resources.

The Carmack’s resignation comes at a difficult time for the companywho bets on the metaverse and doesn’t mind burning all his resources on it.

One of his last presentations as a Meta employee was given at the last Connect developer conference. In it, Carmack said that I was grumpy for the lack of progress and for the reliability of the Quest 2. John Carmack’s next step will be to focus on Keen Technologies, a company focused on developing artificial intelligence technologies. The startup raised $20 million in a round from investors in the middle of this year.
