To celebrate the anime’s 30th anniversary, the luxury accessories company collaborated with the creator of the ’80s series to launch Jimmy Choo x Sailor Moon. The stylish shoes are inspired by the iconic original Sailor Scouts: sailor Moon (Usagi/Serena Tsukino) Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus.
The celebration began last year, when Jimmy Choo surprised with some dream boots inspired by Serena when she becomes Sailor Moon. The feature that most distinguished this shoe, in addition to its design, is that it had around 19 thousand Swarovski crystals of different embedded sizes. The largest crystals were used to create the character’s signature hallmark: the moon.
These flashy boots weren’t exactly made for consumers. Instead, they were designed to be part of the exhibition Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Museum at the Roppongi Museum in Tokyo, Japan. However, the brand gave the opportunity to acquire them for the modest price of 1,796 thousand yen (about 266 thousand Mexican pesos).
Jimmy Choo x Sailor Moon: Collaboration grew ‘by the power of the moon’
