In a recent interview, the director of Obi-Wan Kenobi, deborah chowspoke about the series and even anticipated that there will be multiple returns of characters with whom fans of starwars they are familiar.
Chow revealed that there will definitely be some surprises as to who will appear in the series, saying that he had to think hard about who is important in Obi-Wan’s life.
Obi-Wan is on a journey. There are going to be different people who come into his life. One of the things I’ve been trying to do with this series is have the legacy, and who’s important in Obi-Wan’s life, and also have some new characters. So it’s going to be a mix of the two. But I think there will be some surprises. Or so I hope.
Although we have been told several times that Obi-Wan Kenobi is a limited series, fans are constantly debating whether there will be more seasons. Chow stated that the series was created with a beginning, middle, and end in mind, but also left open the possibility that more stories could be told in the future.
We actually conceive of this as a beginning, a middle, and an end. It’s a big story, and it’s always been that way. You can never tell what happens in the future. But if there were to be another series, I’m sure it would follow the same process of having a real story to tell. Ours is obviously very connected to the prequels, but I love the idea that there could be more stories spread across the timeline.
