Manchester Utd fell ‘resoundingly’ before Liverpool last weekend. The ‘red devils’ were thrashed 7-0 and it didn’t take long for criticism to surface. Erik Ten Hag is one of the most noted and he is joined by comments against Bruno Fernandes, team captain, who did not have the best behavior before this beating. Two historical of the club ‘let loose’ the wrath of him.
The first was Roy Keane. The former forward of the ‘red devils’ directly pointed out his body language and his passivity after the bulky result: “You can forgive players having a bad day, but look at this. I see players come out in the second half laughing and joking. They are 1-0 down at Anfield and they are laughing and joking. I don’t like to see all that garbage.”he commented.
“What has happened is shocking. The players should feel ashamed. They disappeared in the second half.” He added after United conceded nothing more and nothing less than six goals during the aforementioned second act, unleashing a great impact on all the fans.
Keane also looked at the goal and the bulk of the squad: “If you are an international goalkeeper and you allow seven goals… that last goal was a thing for school children. The veteran players were embarrassed, they did not show any leadership. Thank God, I have never been part of a team that was beaten like that.”.
Gary Neville, was more subtle, but did not hesitate to point directly to the Portuguese: “Bruno Fernandes is standing in the center circle with his arms raised. Honestly, I have to say that some of his behavior in the second half has been a disgrace.”he said on ‘Sky Sports’.
The former player got fed up with the Portuguese: “I’ve had enough of Bruno Fernandes waving his arms, not running. That was not the performance of a captain.”he added.
