Against all odds, this effort has revolutionized the auto industry, making it one of the richest companies in the world. As? Among other things, connecting with human biophysical architecture. Its founder, Elon Musk, has been extraordinarily adept at identifying that a purpose protecting the well-being and prevalence of life is a colossal economic weapon. The latter happens because we Homo sapiens are designed to procure vital abundance and what allows it, like the planet and its inhabitants. For this reason, Tesla’s stated mission is not to become the most affluent company but to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
We tend to ignore that as humanity —and even as living beings— we have a common struggle: shaping a fertile future. Consequently, any project that defends such a goal will be especially attractive to us.
Therefore, a vote-hungry politician or a profit-seeking businessman will benefit significantly if his agenda includes caring for the ecosystem. This is precisely where the debate on an evolving intelligent society should focus. Unfortunately, we currently see more personal attacks and fewer deep ideas in social events.
It is up to each one of us to break the destructive inertia and put what is important at the center of the conversation: Is Tesla fulfilling its mission of promoting sustainable energy in the case of Mexico? How can the country and its citizens help reinforce its purpose? What national companies share this goal? Do the government’s decisions agree with the struggle or do they serve selfish convenience? Is Latin America ready for electric cars or will we just be a cheap production base for more advanced markets?
The solution begins with a conscious and informed civil society, which consequently demands much more than the usual simplistic and dishonest rhetoric.
On the subject at hand, I am sorry to report that, according to the IPCC Special Report, if we continue to emit greenhouse gases at the current rate, a tipping point is likely to be reached, after which climate change becomes irreversible and uncontrollable in less than 30 years old.
