One of the most hated movies by fans of Star Wars is The Last Jediwhich provided story situations that did not add much to the universe created by George Lucas. And although the work of Ryan Johnson was not praised by many, it seems that the director is still excited to work for what follows in this franchise.
In statements to the Empire, Johnson said that he would be heartbroken if he finished his time working in the universe of starwars. This is what he stated:
I’ve stayed close to Kathleen Kennedy and we meet often and talk about it. It’s just at this point a matter of timing and when it can happen. It would break my heart if it ended, if I couldn’t get back into that sandbox at some point.
In 2017 a Johnson-directed trilogy was announced, which sat on the back burner for a few years, with Johnson busy with the franchise Knives Out Y star wars focusing on your list of upcoming series. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the trilogy was on hold, but they still plan to pick it up in the future.
