Social networks continue to integrate the use of Artificial Intelligence into their systems, functions and tools to improve the experience they provide to their users. Recently, it was revealed that Meta’s Instagram would be close to including functions that use AI within its private conversations with the development of chatbots that can answer questions in a personalized way.
According to data from Insider Intelligence, the number of monthly active users of Instagram predicted for the year 2023 is approximately 1,336 million. According to the source, this value represents an increase of about 60 million compared to the estimated users for 2022.
Likewise, it is recorded that the most used social networks in Mexico are Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and LinkedIn. Instagram is a social network that greatly facilitates company sales and is the second largest social network in Mexico, registering 36.7 million active users in January 2023.
Instagram and its Artificial Intelligence robot
It was announced that Instagram would be close to including functions that use artificial intelligence in their private conversations with the development of chatbots that can answer questions in a personalized way from their users.
The information revealed by Alessandro Paluzzi, in his Twitter account, explains that this would be the first tool on the social network to use AI programs that would not be focused on the creation or editing of images, but on the production of texts.
The reverse engineering expert and app developer explained that the new feature called “Chat with an AI” would have three main functions, such as chat, personality options, and creative support.
He also explains that the conversations with this artificial intelligence, which does not yet have a name, will be focused on answering questions and “giving advice”, although it does not specify what topics he talks about or what type of content he can offer.
Through an image released by Paluzzi, you can see how the user can choose from a list of 30 different types to customize it.
For its part, for the creative function, Instagram revealed that this feature will allow the user to find “the best way to express yourself and get help writing messages.”
They assert that this tool would be available from any private chat and could be accessed by typing the “@” command and then pressing the “@ai_meta” option as if tagging another participant in a chat group.
This new use of AI on Instagram comes after Mark Zuckerberg announced during a Meta investor meeting in April 2023 that the company is working in different ways to introduce artificial intelligence to more platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.
“We are exploring conversation experiences for WhatsApp and Messenger, image creation tools for Facebook and Instagram, as well as video features,” he said at the time.
With this, Instagram joins other social networks that are using this technology in their tools, improving the experience they offer their millions of users.
As an example is TikTok, which added AI to improve people’s privacy and even to differentiate what content is fake.
Another platform is Facebook, which included a series of functions in its ads, where brands will now be able to guide their advertising campaigns with AI.
