Instagram just launched a GoFundMe-style personal fundraising tool. At the moment, it can only be used in the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
In addition to being in the aforementioned areas, there are two more requirements: being 18 years old or older and having an Android device. Tests will be carried out on iOS soon, according to Instagram on his blog.
How to use the new Instagram tool?
In Edit profile the option to Add the collection mode will appear. The app will ask you for information for Stripe, which is the payment service that Instagram uses for donations.
However, there is a review process in which the causes of donation are evaluated before you start receiving money. The collection period lasts 30 days, with the possibility of extension.
The money is deposited in the bank account of the user’s choice.
Donors can give money publicly or privately, just like on GoFundMe.
