The INE had reported that AMLO’s Plan B would reduce its workforce by more than 80 percent.
The President accuses that this report is to avoid talking about the case of García Luna.
According to what has been reported, a march is planned for February 26.
Yesterday, the National Electoral Institute (INE) alerted about the risks that the Plan B to Electoral Reform proposed by the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO). Among them, the significant reduction of the workforce.
Let us remember that the president has constantly lashed out at the press conferences of “La Mañanera” against “the Conservatives” whom he points out for seeking to “maintain their privileges”. This is what he said today:
“That is why the conservatives cannot with us. They already showed how they are, not all, some. Incenseless, who want the same system of corruption, privileges, benefits for minorities, racism, classism to continue. A group that is also within their rights because you cannot have a perfect society, but rather a better society. In addition, we should not aspire that we all think the same. That would be totalitarianism. Democracy is diversity, it is plurality”.
“They had no respect for the people, they only thought about them, about their interests. Greed ruled them. They are dominated by greed, illness, the hunger for money, to have material things. Not being happy with solidarity, fraternity, love for one’s neighbor, yes, everything that is required”.
INE workforce would be reduced by AMLO’s Plan B
Yesterday, the report presented by the INE shared that the plan proposed and approved by a large majority of the Morena bloc would affect the 2,571 posts of the National Electoral Professional Service (SPEN). As presented by the agency, the reform contemplates maintaining only 396 positions, an impact of 84.6 percent of the current workforce.
Likewise, the INE pointed out that this has a direct impact on the economic solvency of the organization, since not only could it not guarantee “the independence, professionalism, technical solvency and commitment of those who are recruited occasionally”, in addition to the fact that it would be complex to think of a liquidation of thousands of workers, who by law have the legal right to receive three months of their remuneration, as well as 20 days for each year of service.
“This represents a frank affectation of the labor rights of personnel who came to their position by public tender, who is evaluated, trained and trained on a permanent basis, from which they carry out their employment in adherence to the principles of independence and autonomy. Thus, the reform compromises the substantive work of the INE to organize authentic elections”, reads the report.
Given these statements, the so-called “opposition” has called for a second march against the INE, which is scheduled to take place on 26 of February of the present year. With this, the President of the Republic indicated that this march “would be used to hide what happened in the trial of García Luna in the United States.”
