The reform without works of this bathroom unleashes the potential of your toilets. Some blue toilets that date, as far as I can remember, from the 80s. And you have to have lived through this time to know that they did. That toilets, sinks and even bidets can adopt colors other than white.
But as with decoration trends It’s a bit like fashion -everything comes back- and colored toilets are beginning to be seen more and more frequently in the sector’s stores and showrooms (including the recent Milan Fair).
In fact, in colored sinks they are a consolidated trend and, we will see if it extends to the rest of the toilets.
When the Akota Arquitectos studio faced the partial reform of the apartment, this bathroom -despite its condition- in principle was not part of the reform because it did not fall within the budget of its owners. Those responsible for architecture studio then they proposed to do a simple reform that will update its appearance without having to make a large outlay.
In this way they took advantage of the labor in the house and, incidentally, returned to value health. Something that they managed to change only the wall and ceiling coverings, and including some modern and decorative decorative element.
The bathroom before
In view of the images, you might think that the worst thing about the bathroom was precisely its old toilets. But in reality, what accompanied it, such as the shelf furniture, the mirror and, above all, the state of the floor and the walls, was what ruined the aesthetics of the bathroom. And it is that everything in the bathroom betrayed the passage of time.
The bathroom after
As in the small intervention it was necessary to integrate the blue toilets in the architects of the studio decided go for a fun approach. They used a dark blue tile paint from @pintarsinparar and an imitation terrazzo vinyl from @lokolokoshop for the floor and part of the baseboard.
A simple wardrobe with straight lines replaces the previous structure of shelves. A small painting and some plants from Ikea have been enough to achieve this great change with a very tight budget. But above all, it has made the blue toilets look like what they are: authentic vintage jewelry.
