Many babies tend to say “dad” as their first word, but calm moms, that does not mean they love them less, if not the opposite.
The first word, “dad”, comes as a response from babies for that person who lives with them but is different from them. For their part, they see themselves as one person with moms.
Now, it is worth clarifying that if your first word was “mom”, it does not mean that there is something wrong.
“Mom” and “dad” are repetitive, easy-to-recognize words for the child’s brain, according to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.
“Brain activity increases in the left frontal and temporal areas (the center of language ) with repetitive words, which gives the ability to systematically and efficiently perceive and learn the mother tongue,” the research indicates.
