The Hyundai Santa Fe 2021 will arrive to replace the current model that, on the other hand, has only been on the market for two years. The firm assures that it will be a completely new generation, but it maintains too many aesthetic similarities that make one think just the opposite.
Despite this, it cannot be denied that the new Santa Fe is one of the most impressive large SUVs of the moment, with risky lines and a lot of personality. Among its direct rivals are the Kia Sorento or the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, but the ones that are having the most success are the Skoda Kodiaq and the Seat Tarraco.
Exterior design of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2021
As already happens to the current Santa Fe, its design does not go unnoticed no matter where you look at it, with very elaborate lines that transmit dynamism and modernity. This branch of design is far from that of European models, such as the Kodiaq or the Tarraco, and only the new Sorento is capable of rivaling the vehicle shown here in originality.
The front has very complex shapes, but they convey elegance and robustness thanks to the huge aluminum-colored grille that is attached to the main LED spotlights. Daytime running lights, also LED, make a curious effect by drawing a “T” shape on each side between the upper and lower bulbs. The lower part of the bumper mixes parts in body color with others in aluminum that slightly protect the underbody.
Laterally it is where we notice the many coincidences with the current model, such as the shapes of the windows, the lines of the bodywork or the marked wheel arches. The aluminum parts at the bottom of the doors are also the same.
In the back, the same thing happens, with very similar pilots, although not the same, and an illuminated strip that joins it. The bumper itself is completely different, the same color as the body and with more modern aluminum parts.
Inside
Although the general configuration of the dashboard is the same as that of the 2018 model, the quality of some materials has been given a twist, but above all, the technological section. The multi-function center display goes from 8 to 10.25 inches and now has new features, such as voice commands.
For instrumentation, a 12.3-inch touch screen has been used to replace the classic analog clocks, which achieves a much more premium atmosphere and a much greater customization capacity.
As for space, little changes, so it has seven good seats and a very practical and spacious boot when only five of them are being used. The brand has not given the volume data of the same, but it will be very similar to the 547 liters of the current model.
Chassis of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2021
With this new platform, Hyundai claims that it has improved ride comfort. In addition, new high-strength steels have been introduced to increase safety in the event of a collision.
Another section that has been touched up is that of refrigeration. Now, it is not necessary as much air to keep the engine at the desired temperature, so more favorable aerodynamics are achieved and the effect of lifting the front is reduced.
Regarding the price and engines that will equip the new Hyundai Santa Fe 2021, the brand has not yet given data, but the arrival of some hybrid or electric variant is expected to complement the existing diesel and gasoline. Until then, the current Santa Fe remains a great option for anyone looking for a comfortable, spacious vehicle with a lot of personality.
