Sebastian Vettel took second place in the Hungarian Grand Prix, but an infraction with the amount of gasoline in his tank led to his disqualification. Now, Aston Martin has communicated to the FIA its intention to appeal the decision.
Aston Martin Racing has communicated that it is preparing the appeal to try to reverse the decision of the sports commissioners to exclude Sebastian Vettel from the Hungarian Grand Prix, so for the moment the FIA maintains the initial result obtained on the track.
Sebastian vettelhe had crossed the line in second position and had to stop before returning to the pits as the # 5 Aston Martin was running out of fuel. The problem is that the technical regulation requires that the tank of the cars have at least one liter when they reach pit-lane -or the equivalent if it doesn’t, as in the case of Vettel.
After receiving Aston Martin representatives and analyzing the report of the technical stewards, Sebastian Vettel was disqualified from the Hungarian Grand Prix, thus losing the second position and the 18 points that he had initially achieved.
However, when the team presented the appeal the result is suspended until a final decision is made. Therefore, for the moment Vettel maintains second place, Hamilton third, Sainz fourth and Alonso fifth.
