The Government has established a social program called “Families in Action” that provides families with children and adolescents who are in a situation of poverty and extreme poverty in Colombia the opportunity to receive a financial incentive, as long as they meet certain conditions related to school attendance and health care. What requirements are there to qualify for Familias en Acción?
The selection of families to participate in the program is carried out through a process called “targeting”, which considers certain selection criteria. These are:
- Households have already been surveyed in Sisbén IV.
- That the families belonging to these households have obtained a classification of A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2, B3 or B4 in their Sisbén survey.
- That the boys, girls and/or minors under 18 years of age in charge of these families are registered in their Sisbén file.
How do I know if I appear in the targeting of Families in Action?
To verify if your family is a beneficiary of Familias en Acción, follow these steps:
- Enter the website targeted families.prosperidadsocial.gov.co/.
- Select the option “Check here if it is targeted”.
- Enter the type of document you have (identity card, citizenship card, civil registry or immigration card).
- Write the number of your document.
- Write your first name and then your first last name.
- Indicates the date of issue of the document.
- Select the “I’m not a robot” box and wait for the system to verify the information.
When will Families in Action 2023 be paid?
The most recent payment cycle began on December 26, 2022 and ended on January 15, 2023. Currently, the Department for Social Prosperity has not yet announced a new payment cycle, but encourages all citizens to update their data in Sisbén. It is important to note that this platform is the only one used to identify and allocate economic resources to the population, and it is an essential requirement to receive the bonus.
How can you sign up for Families in Action?
Registration for the Familias en Acción program, implemented by the Department of Social Prosperity, has begun its second registration phase. This stage is available to those who are registered in Sisbén IV and meet the requirements established by the regulatory entity for social programs. The fourth phase of the program was open until December 31, 2022.
- That the household has been surveyed with the Sisbén IV methodology.
- That the household is classified in subgroups A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2, B3 or B4 of Sisbén IV.
- That the home has registered in its composition, children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
