ChatGPT and Bing chat —which is precisely powered by ChatGPT— are not the only artificial intelligence models with which we can chat to ask questions or receive any type of query. There are, in fact, very interesting and equally or even more useful alternatives, and one of them is gaining a lot of popularity because of how intuitive and practical it is. We talk about LightIAan AI that is fully integrated into the WhatsApp app to offer additional functions.
LuzIA, specifically, it is very reminiscent of ChatGPT or other similar chatbotswith the difference that this, we reiterate, is fully integrated into WhatsApp. It is, in reality, a kind of bot available for the messaging app —there are many similar ones—, but we can do more than chat so that it offers us, for example, an answer to a quick query.
Behind LuzIA are Javier Andrés (founder of Ticketea), Álvaro Martínez Higes and Carlos Pérez, who created this chatbot of 100% Spanish origin relying on ChatGPT technology that already has a million users and is available for free in all Spanish-speaking countries. The team also has the support and investments of A* Capital, a Silicon Valley-based company that has successfully invested in companies such as Notion or AirBnb, among others.
But, what can we really do with LuzIA? What differential features does it offer compared to ChatGPT or Bing chat?
What can we do with LuzIA?
We could say that LuzIA does a little more than ChatGPT, since, as we have mentioned, its integration in WhatsApp allows additional functions. LuzIA, in fact, allows you to make queries in a very similar way to the OpenAI chatbot. We can ask you about a product, or news or, for example, advise us on what to visit in Paris considering that we only have five hours to see the city. For all these queries, it has an answer that it processes and sends quickly, and as if we were conversing with anyone through WhatsApp.
LuzIA’s star function, however, is to be able to transcribe voice messages, a feature that WhatsApp has been working on for months. In this case, the user will only need to forward the voice note to the LuzIA chat and the artificial intelligence will convert it to text in a few seconds. He also does it privately; As the company describes on its website, all inquiries are 100% private. The precision when transcribing is also quite good.
LightIA can also translate textsas well as provide replies to messages —very useful function if you don’t know what to say. In the latter case, it is only necessary to forward the message and ask them to offer you an answer. If the AI is missing context, it will ask you for more details about it.
Here are some examples that we can do with LuzIA:
- Human: write a message to organize a meal today at 2:00 p.m.
- LuzIA: Hello! Fancy joining us for a meal today at 2pm? We are planning to go to a nearby restaurant and would love for you to join us. We hope to see you there!
- Human: translate this message into Spanish: “just a saying”.
- LuzIA: Of course! “Just a saying” translates into Spanish as “Just a saying” or “Just an expression.”
