In case you did not know, a blog consists of a platform, in which different types of content are published. This platform is focused on communicating and connecting different users in such a way that whoever writes it is the architect of said space.
Within the Blogger platform, users have the possibility to link different documents and let their readers download them for themselves. Here we will teach you how to do it in simple steps.
What is the Blogger platform for?
Blogger was launched in an original way as the ideal platform with which you can elaborate and develop different types of content and which can be exposed in any way and for any type of audience.
This is also known, for being a simple system which has no other purpose, other than the fact of making multiple texts known or, failing that, to support the dissemination of various information or news. It is for that reason that in general, it tends to have an amateur touch, which grows and develops into a more professional one as its users grow.
Uploading a PDF file to Blogger for download
It is important to emphasize that the management interface that Blogger offers you will not allow you to directly upload files in PDF format.
However, it is possible that you link these files thanks to Google Sites, simply by associating your Google user account with your Blogger page. This way, the PDF file that you upload will be available for direct download without any problems:
- Start by accessing the official Blogger portal
- After that, enter your profile, entering your credentials in the space indicated and after that, press the Access button.
- After that, click on the tab called My account and then on the section that says Sites. It is in this tab that you will be able to access the Google Sites services that are associated with your Google account.
- Once inside you will see that there is a list called My sites where you can see that it will help you manage all those files, sites, etc. that you have linked to your Google Sites account. In this case, you must place yourself on the envelope of the PDF file that you want to upload to your page and after that link it from the blog.
- The above action will help you to locate that page and files with your Google site. Likewise, you will need to organize those files that you upload so you must create a folder, which has the name pdf in order to have everything in one place.
- After that, you must choose a template and after that, press the File Cabinet option.
- Once created within the Name option, you must enter the name pdf. There you will see that path: /site/<username>/pdf will be created automatically. Here you must press the Create page button.
- After that, proceed to click the Add file button.
- A dialog box will open in which you must press the Browse button in order to locate the PDF file.
- If you are using Mozilla Firefox, you just have to right over the uploaded link and choose the option to Copy the link path.
- Go back to your Blogger page and click on the NEW ENTRY button of the blog where you want to publish your new article.
- You will begin to write your article in a normal way and you will proceed to insert the link that said file gave you in previous steps. Insert it in a keyword and continue with your writing.
After that, proceed to press the PUBLISH ENTRY button and you will see that the link will almost automatically direct the person to a download of the file in PDF format. It should be noted that you can also add Word documents or PowerPoint presentations to Blogger.
