Gone are the days when transferring your contacts from an iPhone to an Android mobile was a challenge. Currently, you can move your contacts between these devices easily by just creating a VCF file, from the web version of iCloud, however this is not the only way to do it. So if you don’t have a computer nearby, you don’t have to worry, since here we will tell you how to transfer contacts from your iPhone to an Android without a PC.
Transfer your contacts from iPhone to Android using Google Drive
Surely you did not know, but the Google Drive app for iOS has the function of backing up the data of your iPhone in your Google account. Thus, you can transfer your photos, calendars, data and contacts from your iPhone to Android. By enabling this Google Drive feature, all your contacts on Apple will be automatically saved to your Google account. Just by adding the same Google account on your Android mobile and enabling this option, you can successfully synchronize your data. These are the steps that you will have to follow to make a backup of your contacts in Google Drive to proceed with the transfer:
- Install the Google Drive app on your iPhone.
- Enter Google Drive and click on the menu with three horizontal bars on the left of the screen.
- Click on the Settings option.
- Then, click on Backup.
- Select the Contacts option.
- On the next screen, enable the button next to Google Contacts Backup.
- Go back, and tap Calendar Events, Photos and Videos. Disable the buttons within these settings.
- Click on Start Backup and wait patiently for the process to complete.
- Now, on your Android device, enter the Settings menu.
- Once there, select the Accounts option.
- Click on Add account and add the same Google account where a backup of your contacts was created.
Normally the contacts will sync automatically and appear on your Android device. In case this does not happen, you can follow the following steps:
- Access the Settings menu on your Android device.
- Next, access the Accounts option.
- Locate the Google section, and touch Synchronize account.
- Enable the button next to Contacts.
- Finally, open your Contacts app to see the data transferred from your Apple device.
You can also use third party apps
If the above method did not work for you or you ran into a problem along the way, there are some third-party applications that can be of great help. Our recommendation in this case is My Contacts Backup, which is an app capable of creating a VCF file of the contacts stored on your iPhone and allows you to send it by email. Then, all you have to do is download the file to your Android device and import it into your contacts. To move your contacts from iPhone to Android using My Contacts Backup you just have to comply with the following steps:
- Download and install the My Contact Backup application on your iPhone from the Apple App Store.
- Once installed, open the app and click on the OK button to grant the necessary permissions to the app to access your contacts.
- Next, click on the Backup option.
- Now, select the Email option and enter the address to which you want to send the file, that is, to the Google account that you are using on your Android device. The VCF file will automatically be attached to the email.
- Finally, open your email on the Android mobile to which you want to copy the contacts, and click on the download button to save the file on your device.
- The file will be saved on your mobile and you will already have access to your contacts from Android.
